Winter 2023 Newsletter – County Supervisor

I hope this community newsletter finds you in good health and high spirits as the holiday season and cold
weather are upon us. It is my pleasure to continue representing our neighborhoods on the Milwaukee
County Board as your 18th District Supervisor. This fall marked my 10th year of work on the Milwaukee
County annual budget. Despite the financial challenges faced by Milwaukee County, I am confident that
we are making progress and are in a better place today than in the past.
The 2024 Approved Budget will include investments to reduce property taxes by $21 million, the largest
cut in Milwaukee County’s history. This budget also increases investments in the County’s parks and
public transit system, along with additional investments to address public safety, housing concerns, and
the County’s capital projects backlog.
I encourage you to attend (or view online) the monthly Board of Supervisors meetings. This type of
civic involvement provides the best opportunity to stay informed about how your elected officials,
including myself, are representing your interests, working to avoid failures, and championing Milwaukee…
