Candidate Forum: Deanna Alexander vs. Sparkle Ashley
March 20, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm
On Tuesday, March 20, 2018, the Capitol West Neighborhood Association (CWNA) is sponsoring a Candidate Forum which will feature the incumbent Supervisor Deanna Alexander and the challenger, Sparkle Ashley. The event will take place in the Auditorium of the Hmong-American Peace Academy (former Morse Middle School), 4601 N. 84th Street. It will begin at 6:30 p.m. and end no later than 9:00 p.m. Parking is available on the street and in the north parking lot of the school.
The forum will use the League of Women Voters Guidelines to conduct the meeting. This means that all questions from the audience will be submitted in writing to the Moderator, Cal McIntyre, a CWNA Board member. He will read the questions to the candidates who will answer them in turn. All questions are directed to both candidates who have an equal time to answer. A timekeeper ensures that time limits are kept. If you have questions of a specific candidate, wait until they are able to talk with people after the forum.
Please encourage everyone you know who lives in the 18th Supervisory District to attend. It’s the public’s chance to see these candidates face to face and hear them give their answers to questions from the audience. There will be an election on April 3rd and one of these people will be elected to represent you. Make the most of this opportunity to meet them and hear their views on issues the Board of Supervisors will confront.
